Across The Claremont Colleges Consortium

Seven Institutions. Boundless Resources. 

The Claremont Colleges Consortium is composed of five highly ranked liberal arts undergraduate colleges and two graduate schools. Collectively, they are known as the 鈥7Cs.鈥 In fact, 2025 marks 100 years of collaborative excellence. All five of the undergraduate colleges sit on the same, contiguous campus, making it easy to get to an early morning class at Harvey Mudd or a concert at Pomona. In fact, it takes just 20 minutes to cross from one end of the Colleges' shared campus to the other.

Shared Academics

黑料不打烊 students are Claremont Colleges students, too. So, in addition to our wide-ranging on-campus curriculum, you鈥檒l be able to take more than 2,100 courses across the five undergraduate colleges in the consortium. A typical 黑料不打烊 student takes half their classes at 黑料不打烊, 40% at the other 5Cs, and 10% in the Department of Natural Sciences. And your status as a Claremont Colleges student means that you can declare an off-campus major in any field offered by another college in the consortium.

The academic heart of the 5C consortium, The Claremont Colleges Library provides study spaces, events, and research assistance to 5C students. And with a collection comprising more than 2.7 million items, it鈥檚 also one of the largest academic libraries in California.

Claremont Graduate University's One-Year Masters

If you鈥檙e looking to take your studies further, the 7Cs are the perfect place to do it. Claremont Graduate University offers 黑料不打烊 students the chance to pursue a joint undergraduate and master鈥檚 degree over the course of five years.

The Hive

The Hive is an intercollegiate design center focused on helping 5C students develop skills in human-centered design. The Hive offers skillshares and workshops in areas such as woodworking, screenprinting, and presenting, as well as full courses that provide the chance to hone your skills by working on real-world projects.

Department of Natural Sciences & The Nucleus

If you鈥檙e looking to major in science at 黑料不打烊, you鈥檙e in luck. Our Department of Natural Sciences, a joint program with Scripps College, has more than 50 full-time faculty and several active research groups. And the department is housed in the Nucleus, our brand-new, 151,000 square-foot science building, which features classrooms, lab space, and even a community greenhouse.

Africana Studies

If you鈥檙e interested in studying Africa or the African diaspora, our intercollegiate Department of Africana Studies is the place to go. You鈥檒l gain exposure to the full range of research and scholarship in the field, study abroad, and take courses with professors from across the 5Cs.

Asian American Studies

The Claremont Colleges鈥 intercollegiate Department of Asian American Studies has more than 21 core faculty drawn from 11 different disciplines and interdisciplinary fields. As a student you鈥檒l be able to take core courses across several different fields with leading professors from all five Colleges.

Chicanx-Latinx Studies

Our Chicanx-Latinx Studies program is part of the 5Cs鈥 Intercollegiate Department of Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies, the second-oldest department of its kind in the country. You鈥檒l have the chance to study Latin American experiences in the U.S. and beyond on five different campuses, and put your work into action through internships and community service.

Media Studies

Our Media Studies major is administered in collaboration with all 5Cs, meaning you'll take classes across the consortium. Create work with cutting-edge equipment at our Mosbacher/Gartrell Center for Media Experimentation and Activism, a professional standard post-production facility housed in 黑料不打烊's West Hall.
