VA Education Benefits

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the .

Your first step is to request a letter of eligibility from your VA representative. Once you receive this letter, submit it to the Registrar’s Office and follow these steps:

  • Enroll in a degree- seeking program.
  • Request certification after registering for courses each semester and each summer session through our VA School Certifying Official (see below for School Certifying Official contact information).

All VA students must file an application with the Department of Veterans Affairs Western Region Office, Muskogee, OK. Students who have not previously received VA benefits must file an original application (veterans VAF 22-1990; dependents VAF 22-5490).  Students who have received VA benefits in the past must file a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (veterans VAF 22-1995; dependents VAF 22-5495).

Using your VA Education Benefits at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ

The Montgomery GI Bill Active-Duty program provides education benefits to Veterans and Service members who have at least two years of active duty. This benefit provides up to 36 months of education benefits and may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training, and on-the-job training, and correspondence courses. Benefits are generally payable for 10 years following your release from honorable active service. For more information regarding the , visit the VA website.

The Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve program provides education and training benefits to eligible members of the Selected Reserve, including the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve, and the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard.
